The Missouri Valley Impressionist Society was founded on the idea of organizing and encouraging opportunities to promote like-minded artists in the Midwest.

R Gregory Summers

Born in the Flint Hills, Gregory Summers began his professional career at Hallmark Cards Inc. A Master Engraver, he now paints “En Plein Air." Greg challenges himself throughout the year traveling, exhibiting, and painting in plein air competitions and teaching workshops across the country. 
​Gregory is also a Co-Founder and a former Director of Brush Creek Art Walk---a sister organization of the MVIS and one of Kansas City's largest plein air painting competitions.

Brent K. Seevers

Brent Seevers is a professional artist out of the Missouri River bluffs of St. Joseph, MO.  He is an Impressionist painter most notable for his pastel work, and is an advocate for the medium in Northwest Missouri. As part of his contribution, he educates and encourages interest in pastels with various demos and workshops each year. Seevers paints portraiture, figurative, and landscapes en plein air and atelier in both, pastels and oil, and has been exhibiting his work across the country. 
​Brent developed the MVIS Signature Membership and is a former Marketing Director for Brush Creek Art Walk (a sister organization of the MVIS). He continues as a link between MVIS and the Brush Creek Art Walk Foundation as a promotor, and is the Founder and President of Saint Joseph en Plein Air Foundation.

Rachel Mindrup

Rachel Mindrup, is a professional artist and Resident Assistant Professor at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. She received her BFA from the University of Nebraska - Kearney and then continued with atelier studies at the Art Academy of Los Angeles. She received her MFA from the Art Institute of Boston. Her current painting practice is about the study of the figure and portraiture in contemporary art and its relation to medicine. 
​Much of her portraiture work is to educate, raise funds, and hopefully find a cure for Neurofibromatosis (NF).

Jeffery Sparks

In Newton, KS he is a pastor who loves to paint. Jeff Sparks was the initial artchitect for the MVIS organization in its beginning phases.

​Sparks resigned his position early on as an MVIS Director, and left the organization in 2013 to pursue other interests. He continues to paint and lead workshops to those willing to learn.
